Before you start to paint any of the paintings in this course watch the relevant video tutorial all the way through at least once. It will give you a very clear idea what steps are involved and what techniques to concentrate on.
Take your time. Don't rush the painting. Do your best to stay within the lines and don't panic if something goes wrong. If at any time you feel like you have messed the painting up, don't abandon it. Instead complete it to the best of your ability, mistakes and all.
Only paint one of your copies of the Bird of Paradise flower! You will return to the second copy once you have completed the rest of the course.
This matters a lot less than you might think. Watercolor is a very organic process and it is important to get used to the techniques rather than trying to produce an exact replica of each of these paintings. Watercolor paints change color quite dramatically depending on how much water you use, so even if you use the same colors the end result may look very different.
